English: How do you compare? 🌟

Comparatives: Here are some rules to help with making comparisons in English. There are two principal ways that we can reflect comparisons in English.

  1. Changing the word, and
  2. Adding a word like "more" or "less" before it.
Comparisons with short words
  • two syllables or less
  • change the word to make the comparison
Common words:
  • slow, fast, long, hot, cold
  • simply add -er and the word than to the word to make it comparative
Examples:
  • A Ferrari is faster than a Mini.
  • England is colder than Venezuela.
  • Today is hotter than yesterday.
